Gamerreplay
Is hosting a clip narrated by one of the developers, very different from DOW and the Heroes seem much more powerful with new powers.
I particularly like the Warboss

The news is coming faster now... the Dawn of War II website has been updated to include a spectacular teaser trailer and some wicked screenshots!

The teaser trailer is more impressive than the original DoW opening, if you can believe that! Be one of the first to witness the updated Force Commander land some blistering hammer blows to the huge solid jaw of what appears to be a Ork Warboss.

If that's not enough, check out the screenshots which display an amazing amount of detail, color, shading, light effects and complexity. The Essence Engine 2.0 seems to be even futher enhanced with Dawn of War II. You can almost see the sweat glistening on the glowing green Ork hide as they take vicious blaster hits from the marred and mangled Space Marines! You'll also see some Assault Marines jumping into a fierce battle as they're surrounded by wickedly unloading Shoota Boyz. There also appears to be a Orbital Bombardment scene that displays immense destructive power!!

I don't know about you but I could use some oxygen!

I have decided to make public my custom written code and scripts for the DoWP Tech Tree module (attached). This code currently only covers the SM, Ork, Chaos, and Eldar races effectively but does include IG, Tau and Necron graphics. As incentive to assist DoWP with the further development of this module, Mednick Online Networks will be willing to PAY you up to $100 to a registered PayPal account!!!! Payment will only be made once ALL of the races have been integrated into the module, including the two new Soulstorm races, and the module has been tested for proper execution! An intermediate/advanced understanding of PHP and Javascript is needed to complete the module as well as a thorough understanding of the DoW tech trees. Questions about how the module works will be answered ONLY if they are at the intermediate/advanced level of scripting. Obviously, if I had time to answer all the easy questions, I'd have time to finish the module myself! LMAO!

Good luck and god speed!

Download the module HERE!!

Relic's Allie "Buggo" Henze was gracious enough to answer a few questions for us regarding the Dawn Of War II announcement:

Q: Is there an official title for Dawn of War 2 or is it just "Dawn of War 2"?
A: The official title is "Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II".

Q: How long has the title been in production?
A: Title has been in production since after Dark Crusade.

Q: How soon will we be able to see screenshots?
A: Screenshots will be released frequently.

Q: Does the 2009 release date still seem feasible?
A: Release date is feasible.

Q: Will there be open BETA testing?
A: BETA testing yes... if you have purchased Soulstorm.

Q: Will there be opportunity to interview devs?
A: Yes, we will be interviewing devs... these will be posted on the official site.

Q: As the community contact, will you be taking an active role on fansites to help support and promote the game?
A: I will be actively supporting the game.

Thanks Allie for taking time out of your busy schedule!

Stay tuned to DoWP for more information to come!!

There’s lots of translations for a Belgium PC Gaming magazine floating around with info about Dawn of War 2.

Heres at copy and paste that was found.

- Uses the Essence 2.0 engine with Havok physics, all optimized for DX10 and multicore support.
- Units also use CoH-like unit AI for awareness and pathfinding to find cover and such.
- While DoW 2 shares the same (upgraded probably) engine as CoH it won’t be “CoH in space”, while soldiers in CoH will ask themselves if flanking the enemy is the right option, in DoW2 it will be more like Space Marines asking themselves if they should use their jetpacks to jump over an Ork squad to attack them in the back. Different settings, different kinds of warfare.
- Preview only showed a destroyed city landscape, akin to DoW (but more detailed), other tilesets will offer deserts, jungles, mountains and other cities.
- Only the Orkz and Space Marines were revealed, more races on the way obviously and to be to revealed later this year (though how many isn’t known).
- Co-op campaign for both the Orkz and Space Marines, apparently not for the other to-be-revealed races.
- Relic wants to give players rewards at the end of a mission like wargear (armor, weapons, rare objects); “Let’s pimp out squads with cool stuff!”, you will see these items in-game as well of course.
- You’ll fight your way through the campaign with the same squads.
- A squad leader (one or several?) will need to survive if you want to complete a mission; you really have to look out for your squads and don’t treat them like cannon fodder.
- The campaign lets Space Marines operate from a spaceship, you’ll get a view of an underlying planet and you’ll be able to choose from different missions (which are tagged with difficulty colors, green, blue and red).
- Certain reward items won’t be usable at once in the campaign, so they’ll be taken back to the SM spaceship for research.
- Release in early 2009 or later. Read more here.
